Step 3. Formatting your review.

Although your review can be written in any style of your choice, we like to have a standardized format at the start to maintain a level of consistency on the site. This helps readers with comparing worlds and also helps them quickly see whether the world is for them or not before reading the entire review (for example, they may not have all the required expansion packs or they may not be interested in worlds containing CC)

To start with, please ensure your title is the world’s name followed by the creator’s name. For example “Alpine County by Western077”.

For the rest of the format, you can copy and paste the text below into your review and and then insert the details:

The Sims 3

Here is an example of a completed format:

Step 4. Adding Links

You will have noticed that in the completed example above both “Admin” and “Western077” are highlighted in blue. This is because both are linked to other pages, which allows readers to click on the links to visit those pages. For the “Recommended by” section, you can link to anything you like, such as your personal blog, MySim page, Facebook page,or your profile page from this site. To do this, you need to highlight the text you want to link and then click on “Insert/edit link”.

adding links

The Insert/edit link pop-up will show up, where you can insert your link and then click “Update” to save the changes. Ensure that you select the “Open link in a new window/tab” for any external links.

Step 5. Adding Images.

No review would be complete without plenty of images showing readers what the world looks like! We strongly recommend that you use your own images of the world as it will provide readers with more insight that just copying the same images from the creator’s post/site. To get the best images, press the “Tab” key while playing the Sims 3 and then scroll your mouse wheel to change the lens angle. You can press the “C” key to take a screenshot at any point.

As for adding these images into your review, you can use our own image hosting by clicking “Add Media”.

You will get the following pop-up menu, where you can select as many images as you like to insert into your post.add images table

[notice]NOTE: Never hotlink images from other websites or free image hosting services as they are not reliable and can disappear without notice.[/notice]

Step 6. Writing your review.

How you write your review is completely down to you. We don’t have a set format for reviews, so you can do anything from video reviews, world tour guides, legacy stories or anything else you can think of.

If you are struggling to think of what to write, here are some suggestions:

  • What do you like most about the world?
  • What does this world have that others don’t?
  • How many different types of neighborhoods are there?
  • Does the world have any unique settings that would suit a Sim’s story?
  • Can the world accommodate every life stage?
  • How well made are the lots?
  • Did you have any issues with the world?

You can also look at some of our reviews to get ideas: Alpine County, Los Aniegos, Crystaline Cove, Roaring Heights.

Step 7. Preview and Submit your Review.

If you would like to see what your post looks like on the site, you can click “Preview” at any point. We recommend you do this before submitting your review to check that you are happy with everything as you will not be able to make any further changes when you post is pending approval.

Once everything is ready, simply click “Submit for Review” on the right hand side. Your post will then be checked by one of the site administrators before being published.  _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
